What is the Difference Between Modular Construction & Pre Engineered Buildings?

The difference here is in the materials used. A modular home is constructed with a steel frame, but the walls and roof are made of thick cardboard-like material that can be shipped without having to be assembled first.

The pre engineered custom metal building has the same type of frame as a modular, but it has traditional doors and windows, and key features such as brick siding or stucco exteriors. These are put together by metal building manufacturers and sent to contractors like us who set them up with the right metal building kit.

What is the Difference Between Conventional Steel Buildings & Pre Engineered Buildings?

A conventional steel building is put together on site, and can be made of different types of materials including corrugated panels. The pre engineered buildings are built in the factory where all parts are constructed to exacting specifications.

The reason that someone may choose one type over another is because while a conventional steel building may be more flexible in its design and have more possibilities as to its actual assembly process, it will cost much more than an equivalent for pre engineered metal building which has already been put together at the factory. Not to mention that pre engineered metal buildings can typically accomplish the needs of many commercial and residential properties.

What Is Included In A Pre Engineered Metal Building?

Everything you need for your new building is included in one package. When we deliver your order to its final destination, we provide:

  • The custom floor plan that’s been designed just for you,
  • The various structural components necessary for the building’s integrity,
  • The insulation appropriate to your climate,
  • All of the parts that make up the exterior walls and roofs,
  • And building accessories that come standard.
