Church Remediation Project

Church Remediation Project

The Church Remediation Project in Petersburg, Virginia included fly ash removal, replacement material, phased removal of walls and concrete, work around the main sanctuary, and reconstruction of affected church areas while services continued.

Project Overview

The Church Remediation Project was completed in Petersburg, Virginia. The church had been built onto fly ash, and Super Structures was contracted to remove the fly ash from the building site and replace it with suitable substitute material.

The affected building area was around the main sanctuary. The project was planned so the church would not miss a single service, and the church continued services during the work.

The scope included 23,000 sq. ft. of removal work involving walls, concrete, and fly ash. The work was completed in four phases. Super Structures removed 5 ft. of fly ash from under the roof, replaced the removed material with #57 stone, and rebuilt the affected church areas.
